The National Freedom Party of Equatorial Guinea (NFP) has received with great pain and consternation the news of the death of our fellow citizen, Mr. Francisco Javier ELÁ ABEME, lawyer and fighter for the cause of DEMOCRATIZATION in our country. As we have been saying, it should be very clear to all Guineans that any citizen of our country who dies, whether in the diaspora or inside the country, the only culprit is the satrap Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo. Below we offer the summarized biography of attorney Francisco Javier Elá Abeme.
Francisco Javier Edú Elá Abeme, better known as Francisco Elá, was born in Caserío of San Carlos (current Añisok), Equatorial Guinea on March 27, 1945 and died in Santa Cruz of Tenerife, Spain on August 2, 2021 at the age of 76.
However, Mr. Francisco Elá, in order to begin his university studies, he settled in Cameroon, where he graduated from the University of Yaoundé to work as a diplomat. In 1971 he moved to the island of Tenerife, where he enrolled in the Law School of the University of La Laguna. Later, he married his wife, with whom he has had four children.
After finishing his law degree at the University of La Laguna, he began a successful career in the field of law, which lasted for more than 30 years, becoming one of the most prestigious lawyers of the Santa Cruz de Tenerife Bar Association and the whole island. In fact, in 2014 he was presented with a plaque in recognition of his work and his brilliant career path.
As a politician, he fought for the independence and democratization of Equatorial Guinea. He was one of the founding members of the CORED party (Coalition Restorative of the Democratic State), that fights to recover the democracy and the freedom in our country, worth the redundancy. In addition, Francisco Elá is also the author of a book, Guinea, the last years (1983).
Compatriots, we must continue to fight hard to achieve the democratization of Equatorial Guinea in order to avoid losing many of our people in exile. However, it is known that those we love can never be more than a thought away. As long as there is a memory of them, they will live forever in our hearts.
Our sincerest condolences to the grieving family. Rest In Peace!
